Personal Inspiration, Growth and Following Jesus

You may enjoy this!

Lee

Personal Inspiration, Growth and Following Jesus
© Lee Wise All rights reserved.

"What passage of Scripture is guiding, challenging or
changing my life right now?"

"How much does what matters to the Father matter to me?"

Taking even a casual journey through the notebook where I
respond to messages I hear would inevitably lead you to
discover a variety of questions which help my own personal
inspiriation as I try to follow Jesus in the best way
possible.

Questions such asthe two you just read.

The practice of crafting a question for personal
inspiriation or consideration usually takes place after
coming into contact with a thought that captures my
attention.

Striving to create a good question for myself reflects an
attempt to interact with the information I'm being exposed
to in a positive manner.

Not infrequently my inquiries find their expression in
prayers to the Lord.

"What, Lord, 'from the center' were you trying to teach me
this summer?"

"Lord, am I involved with life the way you want me to be
involved?"

"In view of these times, what do you want from me?"

SUGGESTIONS

Should you desire to grow in the art of designing questions
to use for your own personal inspiration and development,
let me suggest that you...

===> Begin With A Question!

Ask yourself, "How can I create somemthing that will speak
to my heart as a result of the information I just came in
contact with?"

Then design a question or two that serves to bring
everything together *for you.*

===> Don't Write "Good." Write For You.

By way of example, the question you read previously may not
make any sense to you. It might not "sound" right.

"What, Lord, 'from the center' were you trying to teach me
this summer?"

But it means everything to me. The phrase "from the center"
and Lee Wise go way back. We could be described as a team!

===> Practice And Record

Keep refining the art, and consider placing your questions
in a location where they can be reviewed.

Write them in your journal or create them during your
devotional time.

===> Don't Go Overboard!

You don't need 16,000 questions written in a way that causes
you to experience so much guilt that you can't get out of
bed in the morning -- let alone create more in your quiet
time!

And don't think you need to make in depth responses to each
and every question you design.

Look at your questions as tools the Lord can use during
various times in your life. He may use a question for you
to reflect on for a moment, a day, or even a year.

"Go with the flow" and follow His lead.

** My Affiliate Check List ** by Charlie Page

I've interacted with Charlie for a number of years and
    enjoy his material.

Here's an article you might benefit from.

    Lee

    --------------------------------------------------
    MY AFFILIATE SUCCESS CHECKLIST
    --------------------------------------------------

    1. MAKE SURE THE PRODUCT BEING OFFERED MATCHES YOU

If your passion is embroidery, you probably won't do
too well with car parts sites. Stick with what you know
at first and, once you learn how to promote on the
Internet, move on to different products.

    2. CHECK IT OUT

Don't just jump in because it's easy. Ask yourself this
question; is the product or service you are affiliating
with something you would bring to your best friend? If
not, you may want to keep looking.

    3. TALK TO CURRENT AFFILIATES

Ask for a list of happy affiliates. Ask them some key
questions such as did they get the help and support
promised? Are they being paid on time? You get the
    idea.

    4. THINK LONG TERM

If your first arrangement doesn't pan out, don't give
up. Many people on the net are making excellent incomes
with affiliate programs. You can too.

    5. GO FOR QUALITY

Make a checklist of everything you want, find two who
meet the criteria, and go all out with those two.
Remember that it will be your reputation on the line.

    6. HOW WELL DO THEY SELL?

You need to ask how well the product or service you
will be promoting 'converts'. Conversion is simply the
number of people per 100 who buy something.

For example, at the Directory of Ezines we convert 8 of
every 100 visitors to buyers. We know this because we
do the hard work of analyzing our traffic and sales,
and have for 10 years now.

This is the hard work that affiliates never have to do,
which is why being an affiliate is so much fun! You
make the money but don't have to do the copy writing or
figure out conversions or any of the back-office stuff.

For most established products you will promote you can
expect this number to range from .5% to about 10%.
Anything higher or lower and you need to be careful
about them telling you the truth.

Also, be aware that 'hot' products convert well while
they are hot but conversion drops with time. So be sure
    to get *current* conversion figures.

    7. WHAT IS THE COOKIE DURATION?

Most affiliate programs track using 'cookies' that are
set on the visitor's machine. You need to know how long
this cookie lasts and if it can be overwritten.

The reason this is important is that it will change how
    you market.

If a company has a short cookie duration then you want
to focus on ads that make the sale now. If they have a
long duration you can use other methods (like banners)
    that are more passive.

You also want to know if the cookie can be overwritten.

If it can, then someone who first learned about product
X from you, but clicks another link to buy, will not
earn you the commission you deserve.

Neither of these factors are good or bad (Amazon has an
incredibly short cookie but people still make fortunes
as affiliates for them) but are worth knowing.

    8. DO YOU EARN 'BACKEND' COMMISSIONS?

This means do you get paid when someone you refer buys
a second product? This is vitally important. People
often buy two, three or more products from one site.
You should earn commissions for every product they buy.

    9. DO YOU EARN RENEWAL COMMISSIONS?

If you send someone to a site where they pay a monthly
or quarterly fee, do you get paid every time or just
once? You should get paid every time.

    10. DO THEY SUPPORT YOU?

Most people don't know, or have the time, to write ads
and create banners or graphics. You should expect the
program you join to provide these tools as well as some
training on how to sell their products.

    >>> WHERE TO FIND GOOD AFFILIATE PROGRAMS <<<

My favorite tool for finding great products to sell as
    an affiliate is Affiliates Alert.

They offer a free version, which does an excellent job.
As soon as you've earned some affiliate income, you
might want to consider the Pro version, as I did.

You can get the free version here ...

    http://www.directoryofezines.com/affalert.html

Forums are excellent resources to learn what really
works. Here are my top three forum choices.

    1. Anthony Blake's Marketing Forum

    http://www.ablake.net/forum/

    2. The Warriors of Internet Marketing.

    http://www.warriorforum.com/

    3. Michael Green's Marketing Forum

    --------------------------------------------------

Here are THREE ADDITIONAL RESOURCES that will help you
    succeed as an affiliate fast.

Allan Gardyne of Associate Programs.com. Great advice
from a guy who has been there.
    http://www.associateprograms.com

A great site to learn and earn is Ken McArthur's site.
    http://www.affiliateshowcase.com

Without a doubt, using ClickBank to find products is
the smart choice for a serious affiliate.

It costs nothing to become an affiliate and they offer
over 11,000 products. Many a real-life fortune has been
    made promoting ClickBank products.
    http://www.clickbank.com

    --------------------------------------------------

If you are committed to quality, and only offer your
people quality resources, time will become your ally
and your affiliate commissions alone can quite
literally pay for the lifestyle of your dreams.

The best way to start is to choose three programs that
meet your criteria, and let them teach you how to be
    successful with their program.

After all, when you win, they win.

And that's a beautiful way to make a living online.

ThinkTQ and the Power Of TQ

    ThinkTQ to me is...

    Definitely good stuff!

In fact, I require The Power Of TQ (one of their products)
as a text for my student interns (I assist in the training of
pastoral interns during their third year of the Master of
    Divinity degree program).

    Why do I like them?

    1. The emails alone that you can get (i.e. if you click on the
this ThinkTQ link) are definitely worth getting.

    2. The Power Of TQ is one of the most unique and helpful
    resources I've purchased in years.

It summarizes hundreds of books in terms of actions to
take that define personal success and gives you a
personalized action plan for your success.

And I really do mean personal.

    It's a made-to-order, custom-published 172 page book
containing your personalized, 100 point performance
    assessment and evaluation.

I constantly refer back to the results of my personalized
book to "bring me back to center," focus my actions,
and improve my days. In other words, it's extremely
    hands on.

    3. I like the owner. I've been able to interact with E.R.
over the past several years and he does sincerely have
a heart to help people experience a better life.

Those are a few short thoughts. I have no problem
recommending, especially, The Power Of TQ. It's top
    quality stuff.

If you decide to visit the site, I'd be sure and check out
the Big Picture and Basic Concepts.

    Well, that's it for now.

    Enjoy the evening,

    Lee

    On Making Adjustments

Naturally I think this is "just good stuf"".. I wrote it!

    Enjoy,

    Lee

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*
    ON MAKING ADJUSTMENTS
© Lee Wise All rights reserved

    Doing what I must do
before before burnout becomes a reality
never dreamed about and much less expected

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*

I believe the idea of reducing expectations qualifies as one
of those "absolute musts" when dealing with our ever
fluctuating pressures and responsibilities of life.

A stubborn refusal or delayed decision to make adjustments
where they may be made -- especially where and when the need
for such acclimations stand screaming to be recognized --
can (in my opinion) contribute to...

    Physical weariness,
Emotional drain to say the least,
And burnout to name the worst.

Taking my personal "expectations temperature" and making
ruthless judgment calls as to whether or not I am harming
myself in an attempt to live up to these standards can be
    very beneficial.

And how do you take an "expectations temperature?" While
certainly no expert, I might suggest asking questions such
    as these...

"Are my expectations realistic?" And, "Are they realistic
regarding where I find myself at this stage of my life?"

"Are my expectations based on truth? Should I be, or do I
really need to be, feeling this way right now?"

"Do I *really* need to feel guilty about this? I mean,
    really?"

"Do I have too many expectations in view of my present
emotional, physical and spiritual state of being?"

"Are any areas of my life screaming from the sidelines
saying: 'Listen! You've *got* to adjust or you'll crash!' Am
I listening to these cries for action or avoiding their
    pleas?"

"What small, doable, adjustments could I make to ease some
of the pain, relieve part of the pressure, or reach that
    important goal without killing myself?"

"Can anyone help me make the needed adjustments in my life?"

Obviously, the matter of making adjustments owns a sensitive
piece of real estate on the landscape of my heart.

And should the truth be told...

Were I not in the process of harmonizing the
responsibilities and expectations of my life by making
creative choices to do so *this very day,* sailing in my
world would be a lot, lot rougher.

    For what it's worth,

    Lee
